Allegro high-speed trains running between Helsinki and St. Petersburg will change their name and will be transferred to intercity routes in Finland. This was reported on February 27 by the Finnish edition Yle with reference to the national railway company VR Group.

According to the company's statement, the trains will be named Pendolino Plus and will run on intercity routes from Helsinki to Turku and Oulu from the end of 2025.

According to the publication, Allegro trains between St. Petersburg and Helsinki began running at the end of 2010. In 2020, the service was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic and resumed only in December 2021.

Since March 28, 2022 due to anti-Russian sanctions imposed by Western countries, Finland Allegro train service has been closed from Saint Petersburg-St. Petersburg in Helsinki.
