Moskvich Cultural Center opened in Tekstilshchiki after reconstruction

He noted that Moskvich has a long history. The center was built in 1977 according to the design of architects K. Shekhoyan, I. Kamensky, D. Korol and N. Tarasenko and at first was named the AZLK House of Culture. "It was created for employees of the famous Moskvich car manufacturing plant and their families," the mayor recalled in his Telegram channel.
In 1985, the Recreation Center was one of the main venues of the World Festival of Youth and Students. In the 1990s and 2000s, the plant was going through difficult times: they even wanted to sell the Recreation center building, but the residents of the district and the management defended it. For the past 17 years, the building has been owned by the city and is called the Moskvich Cultural Center.
According to Sobyanin, the CC team has "many employees who have been working at the center for decades and are very proud of it." "They remember how famous pop artists performed in the Recreation center, Moscow theaters gave performances, television broadcasts were filmed, creative evenings and much more," the mayor said.
Today, according to Sobyanin, a new page opens in the "great and unique history" of this facility.
