The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, at the annual meeting of the board of the FSB of Russia on February 27, demanded that the department's staff continue to resolutely fight extremism and terrorism.

"It is necessary to fight extremism and terrorism decisively and aggressively, to stop any attempts to divide and split our society, to pit representatives of different nationalities and religions against each other," he said.

The Head of State also called for increasing the density of border protection in potentially dangerous areas of the special military operation (SVO), in cooperation with army units, units of the Russian Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and local authorities, as well as ensuring the safety of residents of border settlements.

In addition, Putin instructed the FSB to continue its systematic work in the fight against international terrorism and other relevant areas against the background of the resumption of Russian-American contacts, which, according to him, not everyone is satisfied with. The President stressed that the number of terrorist crimes has increased over the past year.

Also at the meeting, Putin instructed the FSB to take additional measures href="https://iz.ru/1846080/2025-02-27/putin-poruchil-priniat-dopolnitelnye-mery-dlia-zashchity-gosgranitcy-rf " target="_blank">to protect the state border Russia, as well as to ensure the safety of citizens in the border areas.

The head of state described the FSB as a strong and reliable link in national security. He noted the high level of work of the department in carrying out tasks in 2024 and thanked the service staff for their professionalism, determination and dedication.
