- Zakharova pointed to Paris's incitement of hatred towards the Russian Federation after the attack on the Consulate General

"The terrorist attack in France really happened the other day. But it was directed against our country. The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Marseille became the target of the attack. It was only by luck that no one was injured," the diplomat said at a briefing.
She added that the crime occurred as a result of open statements by French leaders who spoke of hatred towards Russia and its citizens.
Earlier, on February 26, the Marseille prosecutor's office told Izvestia that suspects in the attack on the Russian Consulate General will appear in court. They added that both detainees are employees of the National Center for Scientific Research and have French citizenship.
The explosion in Marseille occurred on February 24. Unknown persons threw three explosive bottles into the territory of the diplomatic mission, two of which exploded. The Russian Embassy in France reported that as a result of the explosion href="https://iz.ru/1844129/2025-02-24/v-posolstve-rf-soobshchili-ob-otsutstvii-postradavshikh-v-genkonsulstve-v-marsele " target="_blank">no one was injured.
Zakharova noted that the explosions on the territory of the Consulate General are present all signs of a terrorist attack. And she demanded that France, as the country of accreditation, take prompt and comprehensive measures to investigate the incident.
The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Marseille, Stanislav Oransky, announced on February 25 that the Consulate General href="https://iz.ru/1844773/2025-02-25/genkonsul-rf-soobshchil-o-shtatnoi-rabote-dippredstavitelstva-v-marsele">works normally, and indicated that Paris does not respond to requests Moscow to strengthen the security measures of Russian diplomatic missions.
