The quality of driving schools will be assessed by the number of accidents among graduates.

It is planned to begin assessing the quality of education in Russian driving schools, including by the number of accidents among their graduates. This was announced on February 27 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a government meeting.

According to him, driving schools must take into account a number of mandatory requirements, and for this the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to adjust the current legislation.

"Now the quality of such educational institutions will be assessed according to certain indicators, including the results of students' exams, as well as emergency situations faced by graduates of a particular school," Mishustin said.

He noted that this information will be posted on a special information resource, which will be regularly updated and will be available to everyone. It is not specified when exactly it is planned to launch its work.

If in 2023 it was 12.1%, then by the end of 2024 it increased to 13.8%. According to Tatyana Shutyleva, President of the Interregional Association of Driving Schools, this was the result of changes in the regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on law exams, which entered into force on April 1, 2024.
