The status of a combat veteran will be extended to Russian soldiers serving in the border areas of the Kursk region. This was announced on February 27 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a government meeting.

In addition, the ministers decided to allocate 23 billion rubles for additional one-time payments to veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
