A number of Certification Group divisions have had their accreditation suspended

Rosaccreditation has completed unscheduled inspections of Certification Group, which issued quality documents for non-existent sneakers in the summer of 2024. The Ministry of Economic Development (MAYOR) reported to the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Izvestia reviewed the documents on February 28.

Officials conducted supervision in all divisions of the group, these are 28 accredited persons — 11 certification bodies, 14 testing laboratories and one inspection body, two more divisions of the group voluntarily ceased their activities.

In the papers, the MAYOR clarified that the service checked the company from September 30 to February 14: whether it complies with the mandatory requirements established, for example, by laws on accreditation and other documents in the field of standardization.

As a result, Rosaccreditation issued instructions to 24 accredited persons of Certification Group — they need to eliminate violations, the accreditation of 22 persons was suspended — these are 11 certification bodies and 11 testing laboratories, one laboratory was discontinued. In addition, seven certification bodies and one laboratory were excluded from the Unified Register of Conformity Assessment Bodies of the EAEU.

In mid-November 2024, it was reported that in Russia large-scale inspections of certification authorities have begun. This happened against the background of the Certification Group scandal: in the summer, journalists conducted an investigation, handing over documents for sneakers created in virtual reality to this company, and the organization confirmed the quality and safety of a product that simply did not exist.
