In Moscow has launched the first charging hub for electric vehicles. The Yuzhny hub was built by Mosenergo PJSC in partnership with the Moscow Department of Transport. It can charge 20 electric vehicles at the same time, Deptrans said in its Telegram channel on February 27.

The hub provides 10 fast stations with a capacity of 120 kW with the possibility of simultaneous charging of two machines. Each station has two connectors (GB/T and CCS Combo 2), which are suitable for the most popular models. The average charging time, depending on the model of the electric vehicle and the battery charge level, is 35-40 minutes, and the capacity of the hub is 500 electric cars per day.

There is a recreation room with a toilet, vending machine and armchairs on the territory of the hub. It is located at Vostryakovsky proezd, 10, p. 140.

According to Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, hubs will become an important part of the urban environment, they will accelerate the transition to electric transport and support the development of innovative mobility in the capital. It is noted that a program has already been developed for the development of similar hubs near the CHP.

On February 24, it was reported that sales of electric vehicles in Russia have more than halved. In January 2025, 652 new electric vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 56% less than in the same month last year (1,485 units). The share of electric cars in the car market in the first month of this year was only 0.6%, while in January 2024 this figure was about three times higher - 1.9%.

On January 16, Maxim Liksutov said that from 2024 in Moscow, work began on technological connection EHS as part of the comprehensive street improvement program. This will allow the installation of up to 500 stations for electric vehicles annually from 2025. By 2030, it is planned to increase the number of EHS to 30 thousand to meet the needs of the growing fleet of electric vehicles.
