Against the background of the start of the second season of Hamster Kombat, scammers are actively using the so-called "tapalki" to deceive users on Telegram. This was reported on February 27 in the Telegram channel of the UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The management staff identified three main fraudulent schemes. In the first case, the attackers create a game that involves performing the simplest actions to receive in-game coins and promote it on social networks.

In order to "earn" more, users are offered to purchase a "premium" version for real money or improve the character. However, you will not be able to withdraw funds.

In another scheme, scammers create fake resources with which they promise to withdraw coins earned in the game or receive bonuses. Users are asked to log in via Telegram or link a crypto wallet, which leads to compromised accounts and loss of funds.

Also, cases of the spread of malicious software have already been recorded several times, which mask various kinds of projects to steal code phrases from crypto wallets.

Earlier, on February 27, Senior Analyst at the Digital Risk Protection Department of F6 (former F.A.C.C.T.) Maria Sinitsyna told that cybercriminals used the Carnival theme for the first time. Experts advised using security programs that will automatically protect you from trying to switch to a phishing or scam resource.
