The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has opened cases against Sovcombank, T-Bank and Alfa-Bank. This was reported in the service on February 27.

"The service sees violations in the organizations' TV ads. Sovcombank's advertisement in large print indicated information attractive to consumers about the deposit at a rate of up to 26.6% per annum. Other conditions affecting its profitability were placed in a difficult-to-read font for a short time," the antimonopoly authority clarified.

A similar advertisement in the video format was distributed by T-Bank. The organization posted attractive information about the contribution at a rate of 24%, but did not provide other information affecting the amount of income.

"Alfa-Bank's TV advertisement said: "Alfa investments is about money. We give 20 shares of the largest companies to everyone." At the same time, it was necessary to open the first brokerage account, as well as buy any securities starting from 1000 rubles in the bank's application. Clients did not receive the information necessary for an informed choice about all the conditions for receiving shares," the FAS said.

According to the agency, such actions by organizations can mislead consumers and contain signs of violations of advertising legislation.

If the banks are found guilty, administrative measures will be applied.

Earlier, on February 24, it was reported that The Federal Antimonopoly Service has fined Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank, VTB and T-Bank for distributing inappropriate advertising. The total amount of fines amounted to more than 2.2 million rubles. Cases have been initiated against credit institutions.
