Juvenile delinquency decreased by a third in the Pskov region

In the Pskov region, in 2024, it was possible to achieve a reduction in juvenile delinquency. This is stated in the report of the head of the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Major General Alexei Ovsyannikov. Thus, minors have committed or become participants in 108 crimes. This is 30.3% less than in 2023 (155 crimes). The proportion of such illegal actions decreased from 3.1% to 2.6%. The number of identified persons under the age of 18 decreased by another 6.5%.

The number of criminal assaults against teenagers has also decreased. Their share in the total number of registered illegal acts was 4.7%. The number of minors who committed a repeat offense decreased by 43.3%.

At the same time, the proportion of juvenile offenders increased from 2.7% to 3%, writes Pskov news feed. The number of teenagers who are on preventive registration in the internal affairs bodies has also increased, while the number of those who are on preventive registration and have committed crimes, on the contrary, has decreased.
