Nabiullina said she expects mortgage lending to grow by 5% in 2025

The Central Bank of Russia expects mortgage lending to grow by 5% in 2025. This was announced on February 27 by the head of the regulator, Elvira Nabiullina, during the annual meeting with the leadership of the Central Bank, organized by the Association of Banks of Russia.

"We expect [mortgage] growth of about 5% this year, which is modest, but we need a more restrained dynamics after the excessive growth in 2023 and the first half of last year," Nabiullina said.

At the same time, as inflation decreases, mortgage growth will accelerate — this is expected in 2026 and 2027, she said.
