Stormtrooper Grigoriev returned to Yakutsk after receiving the title of Hero of the Russian Federation

Hero of Russia Andrey Grigoriev, who defeated a Ukrainian militant in hand-to-hand combat, flew to Yakutsk. Footage of the solemn meeting of the fighter is published by Izvestia.

The Yakut stormtrooper returned from Moscow after being awarded the title of Hero of Russia and receiving the Gold Star medal. Grigoriev was met at the airport by his family, cadets, yunarmeyts, activists of public organizations, as well as members of the government of the Sakha Republic. The soldier noted that he feels pride and a great sense of responsibility.

"Responsibility, pride. It happened very quickly: I got a call on February 14th, and on the 16th I was supposed to be in Moscow. We packed up quickly, and my wife packed her things. There was already a plane in the morning," Grigoriev shared.

According to the fighter, the most important thing is that he will finally be able to spend time with his family.

Andrey Fedorov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sakha to the President of the Russian Federation, in turn, noted that 11 Heroes of Russia come from Yakutia.

"This shows that our guys, our warriors, our people have always been ready and are ready today to defend our country," he stressed.

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded Grigoriev the title Hero of Russia on January 11. After that, on February 23, the Russian leader вручилGrigoriev received the Gold Star medal during a ceremony in the Kremlin Executive Office. That the Yakut fighter Grigoriev defeated a militant of the Armed Forces Of Ukraine (APU) in hand-to-hand combat, it became known on January 4. It was noted that the Ukrainian military tried to persuade the stormtrooper to surrender, but Grigoriev confronted him and defeated his opponents with a knife.
