Two earthquakes of magnitude 6.1 and 5.2 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka in the Pacific Ocean. This was reported on February 27 in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.
"The first earthquake occurred at coordinates 55.44° north latitude, 164.58° east longitude, at a depth of 54 km. The magnitude of the seismic event was 6.1," the press service said in a Telegram channel message.
It is specified that the tremor occurred at a distance of 94 km from the village of Nikolsky Aleutian district. There, the earthquake was felt at the level of five points.
The second seismic event occurred 95 km from the same village at a depth of 64 km. Its magnitude was 5.2.
The day before, it was reported that off the coast of Kamchatka there was an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 was recorded. The source was located at a distance of 95 km from the village of Nikolsky.
