Residents Moscow residents will be able to choose a name for alpacas from the Moscow Zoo. This was announced on Wednesday, February 26, on on the website of the Moscow City Hall.

Participants of the Active Citizen project will be able to vote, six options are offered to choose from: Inti — the name of the mythological Sun god, Pacha — translates as "Universe" and emphasizes the uniqueness of every living being. The third option is Cuzco, named after the capital of the ancient Incan Empire, according to the city news agency "Moscow".

Also among the suggested options are Marshmallows, which convey the soft and affectionate nature of the alpaca, as well as a cotton—padded ottoman in honor of the parents' names. Because of the light coat color, the male can be called Albert, which comes from the Latin word albus, which translates as "white," the website clarifies kp.ru .

The alpaca was born in the fall of 2023 at the center for the reproduction of rare animal species near Volokolamsk. At the end of 2024 he was transported to a children's zoo, where he met a chocolate-colored female named Sarina.
