Two elderly residents of Yakutsk lost 4.1 million rubles due to fraudsters. The police are conducting an investigation into the incident.

According to the 72-year-old cleaner of one of the enterprises, she received an SMS message allegedly from the bank. The woman was offered to open a savings account with favorable conditions. The message contained a link to which the victim had clicked. The pensioner decided to take advantage of the offer and transferred all her savings to a new account. A few days later, the woman saw that her card was blocked, and there were only 1.5 thousand rubles in the new account. According to IA YakutiaMedia, scammers withdrew money from the account and credited it to unknown cards. The damage amounted to 2.7 million rubles.

Scammers contacted the 65-year-old pensioner on behalf of Roskomnadzor. The fraudsters convinced the victim that someone was allegedly trying to apply for a loan in his name. The man agreed to issue "counter" loans and transfer funds to outside accounts. The damage amounted to almost 1.5 million rubles.

A 65-year-old woman in Khabarovsk lost 2.5 million rubles due to fraud. She agreed to transfer the savings to a "secure" account.
