In the next two years, 11 more wrecks will be lifted from the bottom of Salmon Bay in the Sakhalin region. This is reported by IA SakhalinMedia with reference to the Ministry of Transport and Road Management.

The work is carried out within the framework of the federal project "General Cleaning". The contract with the contractor has already been concluded, and the project documentation is being developed. After the liquidation of the wrecks, pollution of the water area in Korsakov will be eliminated, and the environmental situation in the port city will improve.

18 vessels have already been disposed of in the waters of the northern tip of Korsakov.

The General Cleaning project is progressing at a rapid pace. Four wrecks were recovered in the first year, and 30 in the second year. In 2024, 38 facilities were eliminated, and 24 wrecks are scheduled to be raised in 2025.

In February in Irkutsk region completed the process of lifting a ship that sank 30 years ago from the bottom of the Hangar. The construction was harmful to the environment.
