Avalanche danger predicted in seven districts of Sakhalin

According to the Sakhalin UGMS, avalanches are likely on February 27 and 28 in Dolinsky, Nevelsky, Tomarinsky, Smirnykhovsky, Uglegorsky, Kholmsky districts, as well as in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. An emergency warning has been sent to the municipal administration, writes IA SakhalinMedia.

Forces and means are prepared to eliminate the possible consequences of avalanches. The situation is under the control of the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In Sochi on February 24 the avalanche descended on the southern slope of Aibga outside the equipped trails of the Rosa Khutor resort. The people who were in the danger zone were able to send their coordinates to the rescuers. Two snowboarders were evacuated.
