Pashinyan spoke about the conditions offered to Azerbaijan on railway communication


Yerevan has sent proposals to Baku on unblocking the railway connection, which will suit both Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday, February 26.
"I am convinced that our proposal will be 100% acceptable to the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan," he said during a briefing, his words are reported by TASS.
Pashinyan said that the analysis of the negotiations that have been conducted over the years has served to find the best option for both countries. However, Baku has not yet responded to Yerevan's proposals.
The Armenian Prime Minister added that the Armenian side's proposals eliminate the process of rail transportation of goods from the main part of Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan and from the Armenian city of Yeraskh to the Armenian city of Meghri through Azerbaijan.
He also said that 15 of the 17 points of the peace agreement between the countries have been agreed. Negotiations on the remaining two are ongoing. Thus, the issue of the deployment of foreign troops along the border and disputes in international courts are unresolved.
Earlier, on February 11, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was ready href="https://iz.ru/1837340/2025-02-11/v-kremle-zaiavili-o-gotovnosti-okazat-sodeistvie-v-peregovorakh-baku-i-erevana"> to assist in negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. At the same time, he stressed that Yerevan and Baku are able to conduct a negotiation process without the participation of third countries.
Prior to that, on January 8, Pashinyan said that Yerevan I have sent proposals to Baku on the uncoordinated two points of the draft peace treaty. He also noted that Armenia has offered Azerbaijan to open a railway connection.
