Judging by the latest statements by the Greek leadership, the confrontational course towards Russia in Athens remains, despite new trends from Washington. The Russian Ambassador to Greece, Andrey Maslov, told Izvestia on February 26.

"Greece's position on the Russian-American negotiations in the context of Ukraine is no different from the position of the majority of EU member states, and those EU states that have the most anti—Russian approaches," the diplomat said.

On February 21, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the need for the United States and Russia href="https://iz.ru/1842642/2025-02-21/gossekretar-ssha-prizval-naladit-diplomaticheskie-kontakty-s-rossiei"> to establish diplomatic relations, as well as to conduct a dialogue between States. In his opinion, this interaction is necessary not only to discuss global issues, but also to resolve situations related to the security of countries.
