Brazil intends to contribute to the development of secure BRICS payment systems


Brazil, as part of the BRICS presidency, intends to contribute to the development of secure payment systems for the community. This was announced on Wednesday, February 26, by Head of State Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
"Brazil, during the presidency, intends to develop a fully transparent and secure payment systems," the Brazilian leader said during a speech at a meeting of BRICS sherpas, which was broadcast on his official YouTube channel.
In addition, Lula da Silva said that Brazil supports the improvement of the international monetary and financial system.
The head of state also spoke about the following plans of Brazil as chairman of the community: the introduction of reform of the multilateral architecture of peace and security, the fight against climate change, solving the problems of artificial intelligence and upholding the importance of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Brazilian leader began his speech with a promise to strengthen the vocation of the BRICS as a space for dialogue in a multipolar world.
Earlier, on February 15, it was reported that The BRICS 2025 Summit will be held in Rio de Janeiro on July 6 and 7. It will discuss strengthening trade and economic ties between the countries of the community, the development of alternative payment systems to stimulate trade without dependence on the dollar, and the reform of multilateral institutions to ensure more equitable global governance.
