Marina Tauber, member of the Moldovan Parliament, vice-chairman of the bloc of opposition parties Pobeda, sent an appeal to the head of the Department of State Efficiency USA (DOGE), to entrepreneur Ilon Mask with a request to disclose who in the republic received funds from the American Agency for International Development (USAID).

"I have sent an appeal to the head of the Department of Efficiency of the American government, Ilon Musk, with a request to conduct a separate investigation and provide a list of all organizations and individuals who received USAID money in Moldova," she wrote on the Telegram channel on February 26.

Tauber said that she and other members of the opposition are concerned about the fact that tens of millions of dollars have been flowing into the country for years. According to the politician, this money was directed by Moldovan President Maia Sandu not for humanitarian purposes or the development of the republic, but for the destruction of freedom of speech and the suppression of the opposition.

In addition, the MP said that this is "only the tip of the iceberg," and "the true scale of this dirty game" will surprise not only Moldovan citizens, but also the new White House administration.

"I am convinced that our citizens have the right to know who spent the money received from abroad and how," Tauber concluded.

Earlier, on February 17, former Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova Dmitry Pulbere called on the Prosecutor General's Office to investigate financial href="https://iz.ru/1840779/2025-02-18/eks-predsedatel-konstitucionnogo-suda-moldavii-prizval-rassledovat-deistvia-usaid"> USAID flows in Moldova. In his opinion, if the illegal financing is confirmed, Sandu should resign.

On February 3, Musk announced the launch of the process to eliminate USAID. The businessman noted that the agency is not subject to restoration and it needs to be closed. Later, on February 5, Tauber reported that the Moldovan opposition href="https://iz.ru/1834448/2025-02-05/moldavskaia-oppozitciia-potrebovala-proverit-deiatelnost-usaid-v-strane"> sent a request to the government demanding an audit of USAID's activities in the country.
