Moskvich automobile plant explains the rise in car prices

The increase in prices for Moskvich cars was the result of indexation, which was dictated by the market situation. This was stated in the press service of the automobile plant when asked to comment on the change in the price lists in which cars of the 2025 model year appeared.

Representatives of the Moskvich automobile plant explained that as a commercial organization, it reacts accordingly to current economic changes, including lending, ruble volatility and currency fluctuations.

"The price indexation carried out by Moskvich in 2025 is dictated by market conditions. Moreover, the transition to full—cycle production allowed MAZ Moskvich to form a more balanced pricing policy," the Chinese Cars Telegram channel quoted the company's press service as saying on February 26.

The day before it was reported that the Moskvich automobile plant has published price lists for crossovers and liftbacks for the 2025 model year. Compared to "last year's" cars, the models increased in price by from 65 thousand to 97 thousand rubles. The new Moskvich 3 crossover of the current model year costs from 1.77 million rubles, and the Moskvich 6 liftback costs from 2.28 million rubles.
