The State Duma spoke about the possible return of Western oil and gas companies


Russia is currently not interested in the return of Western oil and gas companies, but is open to discussions. This was stated by State Duma Deputy Igor Ananskikh on Wednesday, February 26.
According to the parliamentarian, today the country is able to cover its own needs in the oil and gas sector, but may attract foreign companies to develop new fields in the future.
"Russia has huge reserves of oil and gas, so this is a tasty morsel for all large companies. <..."If we understand that something is missing, that new deposits need to be developed, we can attract new companies and investors. From China, India, USA — everything depends on the international situation and the need for field development," Ananskikh said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
The MP stressed that the companies that left will not be able to return on the same terms as they used to work on. He added that this is also true for companies from other sectors.
At the same time, he noted that Russia is open for discussion.
