The US National Endowment for Democracy announced the blocking of funds

National Endowment for Democracy (NED) USA announced that its funds have been blocked, it is forced to suspend the implementation of projects around the world. This was announced on February 26 on the official on the foundation's website.

The foundation funds almost all of its grants and operations. For the first time in its history, the organization was unable to fulfill its obligations and suspended the support of almost 2,000 partners around the world.

This funding is not covered by the presidential decree on freezing foreign aid for 90 days. However, despite the tax exemption, access to these funds was closed. The reasons are unknown.

NED is now forced to stop all partner support and lay off most of its employees.
