Fraudsters often act as fake brokers in order to steal funds and confidential data, while promising passive earnings. This was announced on February 26 in the press service of the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Pseudo-brokerage is a common way of deceiving Russians, the agency said. The management urged not to make a decision on passive earnings hastily.

"Most fraudulent schemes with pseudo-investments are designed to deceive a person twice. The first time is at the moment of "investment", the second time is at the moment of withdrawal of funds," the Telegram channel says.

The UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that, first of all, citizens should question the lack of transparency and signs of an illegal professional participant in the securities market on the website of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. In addition, Russians were urged to pay attention to the license, which may turn out to be fake.

On February 25, the press service of the UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported that the attackers href="https://iz.ru/1844870/2025-02-25/v-mvd-predupredili-o-novoi-skheme-moshennichestva-na-gosuslugakh " target="_blank">fraudulent schemes were adapted for the younger generation, their goal was to gain access to an account on "Public Services". According to their information, scammers call students and students in order to allegedly verify data or register in the service and ask them to provide an authorization code. This is how attackers gain access to the account.
