A patient with pneumonia lit a cigarette and started a fire in a hospital near Arkhangelsk

In a hospital in Koryazhma, Arkhangelsk region, a patient with pneumonia decided to smoke, but accidentally started a fire, a source told Izvestia on February 26.

"Curtains caught fire in the fourth ward in the infectious diseases department...> as a result of smoking," the source said.

According to him, seven patients were evacuated to another department of the hospital. The smoker, who was hospitalized with pneumonia, was admitted to the intensive care unit with burns to his torso. A 65-year-old man has more than 50% of his body surface damaged.

Earlier, on February 22, it was reported that two children and two teenagers died in a fire in the Omsk region. It is specified that in the village of Ilyichevka, in the early morning, neighbors of a burning building noticed smoke and informed the fire department.
