- The media reported on the work of DOGE Mask on software for the dismissal of officials

Engineers of the Department of State Efficiency USA (DOGE), which is headed by American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk, is working on software that would help dismiss government employees. This was reported on February 25 by the magazine Wired.
According to his sources, DOGE has gained access to the Automated Reduction in Force (AutoRIF, "Automatic Reduction of Employees") program and is making changes to its code. This software was created by the Pentagon about 20 years ago and has since been used by various US agencies to make staff cuts.
The interlocutors told Wired that Musk could use AutoRIF as it is, but most likely his engineers will make their own add-ons on the software system. Everything indicates that DOGE is preparing to conduct a new round of large-scale layoffs of officials: civil servants have indeed begun to receive letters from the US Office of Personnel Management, which Musk had previously warned about.:they require a report on the work done.
Musk said on February 22 that in accordance with the instructions of the US president Donald Trump all federal employees will receive emails asking what they did last week. The head of DOGE stressed that refusal to respond would be considered as resignation.
The New York Times reported on February 23 that officials from some U.S. agencies, such as the Pentagon, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the State Department href="https://iz.ru/1843975/2025-02-24/nyt-rasskazala-o-planakh-gossluzhashchikh-sabotirovat-prikazy-maska"> these letters were sabotaged. So, FBI Director Cash Patel addressed the staff and pointed out that the agency is responsible for all verification processes through the management office, and ordinary employees should "refrain from any answers."
