The Spirit of Fire Film Debut Festival has announced a program

The press conference was attended by Ruslan Kukharuk, Governor of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, Emir Kusturica, President of the Film Festival, Dmitry Davidenko, Director of the Department of Cinematography and Digital Development of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Alimov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zvereva, Vice President of the Film Festival and Chairman of the Board, Alexander Stuglev, Director of the Roscongress Foundation.

The participants of the international and Russian competition programs, the full jury of the main and Russian competitions, as well as the business and educational programs of the festival were announced at the press conference.

A total of 84 applications from 34 countries were submitted to participate in the international competition, 411 applications from 17 countries were submitted to the short film competition, and 41 applications were submitted to the Russian debut competition. The international competition includes seven films representing Malaysia, China, the United States, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Thailand, Canada, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Iran, India, Singapore, the United Kingdom and Russia. There are six Russian film debuts in the Russian competition.

The President of the film festival, Emir Kusturica:"I am very happy to be the president of this film festival and I want to say that Siberia and culture are very closely connected with each other. When Sergei Solovyov, who was on the jury of the Venice Festival, presented me with my first film award, I asked him: “Tell me, is one successful film enough for a career?” He replied that it was more than enough. I am very grateful to him because he was one of those who gave me the first award. If your first movie is successful, then you have a good chance that the second one will be successful too. I believe that the Spirit of Fire Festival creates a great atmosphere and serves as a good launching pad for a new career in cinema."

The international jury included director, screenwriter, producer Shin Yong-shik (Republic of Korea, chairman of the jury); director, screenwriter, producer, actor Farhat Sharipov (Kazakhstan); theater, film and television actress Irina Rozanova (Russia); film director, producer, founder of Nuance Film Production Company Magdalena Ralcheva (Bulgaria); director, producer, journalist, co-founder of the Argos Comunicación production company Epihmenio Ibarra (Mexico).

The Russian jury included actor, film director, screenwriter and producer Yuri Moroz (chairman of the jury); cinematographer Alisher Khamidkhodzhaev; theater and film actress Ksenia Kutepova; composer Ivan Sintsov.

The jury of the short film competition includes composer Igor Babaev; theater and film actress, director, producer Nadezhda Mikhalkova; theater and film actor, film director, screenwriter, film producer, cinematographer, artist Igor Voloshin; film producer, teacher, founder and head of the Vita Aktiva film company Julia Mishkinene.
