The Moscow City Court has remanded businessman Lev Martirosyan in jail in the case of bribing the head of the Main Personnel Department of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Yuri Kuznetsov. This was reported on February 26 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

It is specified that the court session was held behind closed doors.

The Moscow City Court considered Martirosyan's appeal against the decision of the Basmanny Court, which extended his detention until April 11. As a result, the court's ruling remained unchanged, and the defense's appeal was not satisfied.

In May 2024, the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF) opened a criminal case against Kuznetsov on receiving a particularly large bribe (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the investigation, Kuznetsov, as head of the 8th Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, received a bribe in the form of a land plot and an apartment building from "representatives of commercial structures for committing certain actions in their favor." On the same day, the defendant, as well as Martirosyan, were arrested.

October 16 the court seized 29 accounts in three Russian banks and six Kuznetsov's real estate properties. A plot of land in Krasnogorsk, the village of Obushkovo in the Istra district of the Moscow region, a house in the latter, land in Krasnodar and a three-story house with an area of more than 1.1 thousand square meters located on it, as well as an apartment on Yartsevskaya Street in Moscow.
