On February 26, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova spoke about the absurdity of France and Britain's actions during the UN vote. According to her, the adoption by these countries of the American resolution in the UN Security Council after the approval by the UN General Assembly of the anti—Russian resolution is a disgrace.

She added that these countries have been saying for the past month that they should take part in the negotiations.

February 24, UN Security Council Approved the resolution proposed by the United States on the conflict at Ukraine. Russia was among the countries that voted in favor. The document called for work to resolve the conflict as soon as possible. At the same time, on February 24, the UN General Assembly adopted the anti-Russian resolution, which was not supported by Washington. Then 65 countries decided to abstain from voting.
