A student from Kansk who gave birth in the toilet said she did not know about the pregnancy.

A student of the Kan Polytechnic College, who gave birth in the dormitory toilet, said she did not know about the pregnancy. This was announced on February 26 by the Prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

According to the agency, the girl gave birth to a baby on February 23 in a dormitory, after which she put it in a trash can and went to the shower. The newborn's body was found by the student's neighbors, who reported the incident to the dormitory teacher.

"Medical staff who arrived at the scene pronounced the baby dead and hospitalized the woman in labor," the department's Telegram channel said.

According to the girl, she did not know about the pregnancy and mistook the birth for digestive problems. The prosecutor's office noted that the student's family was not registered with the prevention authorities and was characterized positively.

The identity of the child's father is currently being established and the causes of the infant's death are being investigated.

The incident became known on February 25. According to the source of Izvestia, the 17-year-old student had several partners, she does not know which of them is the father of her daughter. A criminal case was opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under Article 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of a newborn child by a mother").
