In the United States, a woman was convicted of harming Canadian soldiers with a laser

In Alaska, USA, a local woman was sentenced to three years of probation for injuring three soldiers of the Royal Canadian Air Force with a laser last February. This was reported on February 25 by the newspaper Ottawa Citizen with reference to the release of the US Department of Justice.
"Three soldiers of the Royal Canadian Air Force were injured last year when they were hit by a powerful laser during military exercises in Alaska," the newspaper writes.
The publication clarifies that the incident occurred on February 11, 2024, when a crew of Canadian military personnel circled over a house in the Delta Junction area, where the woman who injured them lived.
She later admitted that she had aimed a laser at them because she was unhappy that a military helicopter was circling over her house and considered such actions illegal. As a result of the incident, three crew members suffered eye injuries.
The woman pleaded guilty last November. A year after the incident, she was sentenced, the newspaper notes.
