Sociologist Orsini: Russia has inflicted a political defeat on the European Union

Alessandro Orsini, head of the International Security Research Center at the Luiss University of Rome, announced the political death of the European Union (EU) due to Russia's actions. He stated this on February 25 in a publication for IL Fatto Quotidiano.
Orsini called on the EU to understand that Russia has politically destroyed the bloc and now they will have to rebuild based on the new reality.
The author of the article believes that because of its complexes and megalomania, the EU was unable to realize that Russia could "crush it with one blow." Special operation on Ukraine has demonstrated the military inconsistency of European countries in front of Russia.
"From a political point of view, the EU is dead," Orsini concluded.
Earlier, on February 25, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the Europeans have lost the right to participate in negotiations on Ukraine. As a result, they are increasingly isolated.
