Chilean President Gabriel Boric has declared a state of emergency due to a massive power outage in the country and imposed a curfew. This was reported on January 26 by the agency Infobae with reference to the authorities of the republic.

To clarify, the curfew will be in effect from 22:00 to 06:00 local time (from 04:00 to 12:00 Moscow time).

"The power outage continues between the Arica and Los Lagos regions: the President of the Republic has decided to declare a state of emergency due to the disaster. The process necessary for this procedure has already begun and will take effect immediately," the agency quoted Chilean Interior Minister Carolina Toja as saying.

This measure applies to the region from Arica to Los Lagos. Three thousand military personnel will monitor the observance of the curfew.

In addition, it became known that in some areas of Chile and cities such as Concepcion and Valparaiso, the power supply was restored around 20:40 local time (02:40 GMT). However, there are still some interruptions in these settlements.
