- WSJ has learned about plans to create a registry for illegal migrants in the United States

In The USA will create a special registry for registration of illegal migrants. This was reported on February 25 by the newspaper The Wall Street Journal with a link to the corresponding project.
"Immigrants who are in the country illegally, including children aged 14 and older, will have to provide fingerprints and home addresses for registration," the publication said.
Migrants who fail to comply with this requirement can be fined up to $5,000 or sentenced to up to six months in prison.
The publication notes that after the establishment of the registry, illegal immigrants will be given 30 days to provide information about themselves. Previously, a person could only be detained and deported for being in the United States illegally.
The Administration of the President of the United States Donald Trump on February 23 instructed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to track down and deport migrant children who crossed the border unaccompanied by their parents.
