Ukraine has agreed to a deal with The United States on the joint development of minerals in connection with Washington's change in its requirements. This was reported on February 25 by the newspaper Financial Times with reference to Ukrainian officials.

"Ukrainian officials say that Kiev is now ready to sign an agreement on the joint development of its mineral resources, including oil and gas, after the United States abandoned claims for the right to $ 500 billion in potential revenue from production," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, representatives from Ukraine managed to negotiate more favorable terms with the United States. The final version of the draft included a clause according to which Kiev will need to contribute 50% of the proceeds for joint development to a fund from which funds will be invested in Ukrainian projects.
