Spanish specialist Jonathan Alba replaced Valery Karpin as head coach of Rostov. This was announced by the club's press service on Tuesday, February 25.

"Jonathan has been working at Valery Karpin's headquarters since the beginning of 2018 as chief analyst," the Telegram channel said in a statement.

After that, in 2021, the Spaniard joined the Russian national team with Karpin, and a year later returned to the club from Rostov-on-Don. During his career, the 43-year-old specialist also managed to work on the coaching staff of the Romanian national team.

Valery Karpin left the post of head coach of Rostov earlier that day.

January 27, former head coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov resigned as coach of the Kazakhstan team. He took over the national team in June 2024.
