The price of the benchmark Brent crude oil on the London ICE exchange dropped below $74 per barrel for the first time since December 31, 2024. This is evidenced by ICE data for February 25.

As of 18:11 Moscow time, the price of Brent futures for delivery on April 25 decreased by more than 1.6% and stands at $73.52 per barrel of oil. The price of May futures is $73.03 with dynamics of minus 1.7%.

Earlier, on February 24, Evgeny Shatov, a partner at Capital Lab, suggested that the price of Brent would fluctuate in the spring href="https://iz.ru/1844433/2025-02-24/ekspert-sprognoziroval-stoimost-nefti-marki-brent-vesnoi-2025-goda " target="_blank">in the range of $70-80 per barrel. In his opinion, in the baseline scenario, the oil market in the first half of 2025 will be balanced by postponing the timing of OPEC+ production growth from January to April.

On February 3, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that the situation on the global oil market is stable. Demand is growing, and by the end of last year it increased by about 1.5 million barrels.
