On February 25, a bas-relief was unveiled in the Izvestia Military Center building in memory of Izvestia military commander Semyon Yeremin, who died in a special operation zone during a Ukrainian drone attack. The event was also timed to coincide with the birthday of the journalist, who would have turned 43 on that day.

A bas-relief in memory of Semyon Yeremin now greets employees and guests at the entrance to the Izvestia editorial office, where he has worked since 2017, however, as journalists say, he was "in the fields" most of the time, including covering the events of the special military operation (SVO).

"We remember today, we pay tribute to the memory of a man who put honor, professional duty and truth above his own risks, above his own life. Of course, Semyon left very early. Of course, he didn't manage to do much, but what he managed to do in his life was enough for many for 10 lifetimes," said Svetlana Balanova, General Director of the National Media Group (NMG).

Vladimir Tyulin, General Director of Izvestia News Center, also expressed appreciation for the correspondent's work and noted his high human qualities.

"Semyon, his work, his life epitomized how we saw Izvestia. He was a modern, reliable, open, kind and very principled person," Tyulin said.

Sculptor Alexander Nozdrin noted that the journalist is depicted in a bulletproof vest, as he was always in danger. According to him, the creation of the bas-relief took six months, and bronze was used to make it, symbolizing eternal memory.

Semyon Eremin diedon April 19, 2024, while shooting a report in a special operation zone during an FPV drone attack. After the second drop from the drone, the journalist was injured, and he later died. The military commander was 42 years old. April 23, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded Eremin the Order of Courage posthumously.

In autumn, the journalist's memory was immortalized in Balashikha, where he lived — a large portrait appeared on the wall of the house.
