The State Duma called for the preparation of standards for the protection of children from attacks by stray dogs

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin called on the relevant committee to prepare standards for the protection of children from stray dogs. This was reported on February 25 in press service the lower house of Parliament.

"Let's put things in order and instruct the relevant Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood — they will take a more objective approach to this issue — to introduce a bill as soon as possible so that the regions have the opportunity to make decisions," Volodin is quoted as saying on the website.

In particular, Volodin urged Russians not to throw animals out on the street.

On November 28, 2024, the State Council of Chuvashia submitted to the State Duma a bill that empowers the government href="https://iz.ru/1798154/2024-11-28/v-chuvashii-predlozhili-razrabotat-kriterii-priznaniia-agressivnosti-brodiachikh-sobak " target="_blank">to establish criteria for the aggressiveness of stray animals. The draft proposes to amend the Federal Law "On Responsible Treatment of Animals and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation."
