- Szijjarto pointed to Ukraine's violation of the rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia.

According to him, the violation of the rights of national minorities cannot be considered only as a problem between the two states, and the international community should contribute to resolving this issue.
"In the territory of our eastern neighbor, the rights of the Hungarian minority have been constantly violated over the past 10 years. Despite all our good intentions for rapprochement, despite continuous attempts over the past 10 years, no progress has been achieved," Szijjarto said.
He stressed that Hungarians have not been restored to the rights to use their native language in the fields of education, culture, press and public administration.
This situation cannot but influence the position of the Hungarian government in the context of Ukraine's European integration, the Hungarian Foreign Minister concluded.
Polish radio station RMF24 reported on February 15 that Hungary has blocked Ukraine's possible accession to the European Union (EU). It was clarified that Budapest did not approve the Polish project with conditions in order to start negotiations on Kiev's membership in the EU.
In addition, in January, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukraine is still not ready to join the European Union. According to him, the EU does not have the money to accept Kiev. Orban called on Ukraine to first settle relations with Slovakia and Hungary.
