Potential comprehensive agreement based on contacts between The United States and Russia can become the foundation of global security. This was stated on February 25 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto at a meeting of the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.

He highly appreciated the beginning of the negotiation process on Ukraine between Moscow and Washington, and expressed the hope that the parties would not limit their final decisions to European affairs.

"It is obvious to us, in the center of Europe, that good relations between the United States and Russia can become the basis for global peace," the Hungarian minister said.

At the same time, Szijjarto warned that there are players in global politics who advocate the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine.

"These militarists must be feared. They should not slow us down in peaceful negotiations, in confident agreements," he stressed.

Earlier, on February 24, the President of the United States Donald Trump declared constant contacts with the Russian Federation regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. He also expressed confidence that Moscow's desire to achieve the success of these negotiations.
