In Russia, the total reserves of 29 types of rare earth metals (REM) amount to 658 million tons. This was announced on February 25 by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.

"These reserves are sufficient both for the current needs of the Russian economy and for the long term," the agency reports TASS.

Among the rare metals, 14 types of minerals are distinguished, such as lithium, rubidium, caesium, beryllium, scandium, indium, gallium, germanium, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium, tantalum and rhenium. In addition, 15 minerals belong to SEM. The balance reserves of these resources in Russia amount to 28.5 million tons
