The State Duma (GD) has passed in the second and third readings the law, which aims to improve the quality of medical care in Russia, it affects specialized education. This is reported on February 25 on the website of the State Duma.

"Employees of the health care system need to constantly improve their qualifications, to study modern technologies and diagnostic methods, as well as to master new ways of treatment and prevention of diseases," - said the chairman of the lower house of parliament Vyacheslav Volodin.

He drew attention to the fact that professional training of doctors and nursing staff should be carried out in educational organizations, where there are certified teachers and clinical base necessary for students' practice. At the same time, the qualification of medical workers who studied on online courses is questionable. The lack of the right conditions in educational institutions may lead to the fact that people in need cannot be helped in time.

The law adopted by the State Duma prohibits electronic and distance learning in medical and pharmaceutical professional programs, except as provided for by federal standards. The new norms propose to fix the development and approval of standard additional programs of medical education exclusively to the Ministry of Health.

Moreover, organizations that provide training in this area must obtain a conclusion from Roszdravnadzor that they have the appropriate staffing and material and technical support. All additional professional medical education in Russia will have to be licensed by types of programs and specialties.

In addition, several proposals were sent to the Russian government, for example, that it is necessary to determine the methods and amounts of distance learning and practical training in certain pharmaceutical and medical specialties.

Earlier, on February 6, it was reported that the leader of the faction "Just Russia - For Truth" Sergei Mironov sent a letter to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, where he proposed to raise salaries of ambulance workers. Mironov pointed out that mass layoffs in this link of medics are alarming, and additional payments for them are sometimes unfairly distributed. In addition, financial irregularities are found in regional services, and ambulance workers are exposed to risks of assault.
