Rosstandart approves amendments to GOST introducing new road signs

Rosstandart has approved amendments to GOST, which introduce new road signs and rules for their application. The relevant changes were published on February 25 in the department's database.
The changes will take effect on January 1, 2026, but regions can apply them now.
The "Deaf" sign will be added to the list of road signs. It will be used near pedestrian crossings near objects visited by the deaf or hard of hearing.
The stop line signal can now be projected vertically, but it is not allowed to be placed in front of some regulated intersections, except for emergency ones.
In addition, some road signs can now be combined into one. So, the "Parking" signal can be combined with the sign "Method of parking the vehicle", and "Recommended speed limit" — with the sign "Artificial unevenness".
The changes also affected the nameplate indicating the validity period of various road signs — in addition to the hours and days of the week, months have been added to the list.
"Currently, the location of signs on the roads of the Moscow region has been optimized — some of the signs are combined, and there is no need to reduce their number," the Ministry of Transport of the Moscow region told the newspaper "Kommersant".
On February 24, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced that the section of the M-12 Vostok toll highway to Yekaterinburg it is planned to be commissioned by the end of June 2025. He flew over a section of the highway from Tatarstan to the Sverdlovsk region.
