In Apatity (Murmansk region), a criminal case has been initiated over the fact of collision of a foreign car with a 13-year-old boy crossing the road. The regional State Traffic Inspectorate reports about it in its Telegram-channel on Tuesday, February 25.

The collision occurred in the evening on February 17 on Zhemchuzhnaya Street. The car Kia Rio drove to the intersection at the prohibited traffic signal and hit a 13-year-old boy, who crossed the roadway on the crosswalk.

As a result of the collision, the child was seriously injured and taken to hospital. Subsequently, his injuries were qualified as causing serious harm to health.

A criminal case has been opened against the driver, a 67-year-old resident of the Kandalaksha district, under part 1 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules, which caused by negligence the infliction of grave harm to human health".
