The Russian Academy of Sciences reported the release of the largest plasma cloud in 2025

The Sun has ejected the largest plasma cloud in 2025. According to preliminary data, it is moving in the direction of the Earth. This was reported on February 25 in the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy IKI and ISSP RAS.

According to scientists, the expanding cloud of plasma could be observed from about 1 a.m. to 9-10 am. Later, the ejection distanced from the Sun and went out of the field of view of space coronographs.

It is noted that the source of the emission was the same active region, where two days ago there was a flare level X2.0.

According to the study, the source of the explosion is located on the back side of the Sun, thus can not affect the Earth. However, the active areas located on the Earth-facing side of the Sun, will be in a dangerous zone for the Earth for about 1.5 days.
