In the first month of 2025, 143.6 million goods were blocked at the cash desks of Russian stores due to the permissive regime of the labeling system. This was reported to "Izvestia" by the Center for Development of Advanced Technologies (CDAT, the operator of the state marking system "Honest Mark") on February 25.

The main reasons were expired expiration date, incorrect labeling code or attempts to sell several goods under one code, which should indicate an attempt to legalize the products of unscrupulous entrepreneurs. The first place in terms of blocking was taken by dairy products. For a month, the system prevented the sale of 49.5 million expired and falsified goods. In second place - beer (46.5 million), in third place - tobacco products (29.2 million).

Checks of labeled goods are conducted online. From March 1, offline checks will become possible through the local module of Honest Mark.

"The introduction of the offline mode is another step to protect consumers from low-quality products that can be harmful to health. In case of failure or absence of the Internet, the cash register will not allow to punch the goods that have been blocked with the help of the labeling system by the state authorities," said Igor Vizgin, project manager of the office of the Chief Designer of CRPT.

At first, offline checks will be launched at the cash registers of small stores and retail chains. In large retail chains - 50 or more outlets - such a function will work from May 1, 2025.

From March 1, offline verification will become mandatory for beer, antiseptics, dietary supplements, clothing, footwear, tires, cameras, perfume, dairy products, packaged water, tobacco and medical products, as well as wheelchairs. Soft drinks will be added to the list from June 1, veterinary medicines from September 1, and technical means of rehabilitation from October 1.

Earlier, on February 13, the CRPT told "Izvestia" that over 221 tons of illegal caviar of sturgeon and salmon fish were detected in the country for six months due to the introduction of labeling. Of this, more than 218 tons of red caviar and almost 3 tons of black caviar.
