Customs officers of Domodedovo airport discovered a Harry Winston ring worth 22 million rubles from a foreigner, who arrived from Australia via Dubai. This was reported by the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia on February 25.

"The inspector stopped the man on the "green" corridor. During the inspection it turned out that in his backpack was undeclared expensive jewelry," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the service.

The man explained that he was taking an engagement ring as a gift to his fiancée and did not familiarize himself with customs regulations before transporting the jewelry.

During the examination it was found that the ring is made of 950 proof material and decorated with an oval diamond weighing six carats, which is distinguished by two stones.

On this fact, a criminal case was opened under part 1 of article 194 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evasion of customs payments on a large scale"). The man may face up to two years in prison or a fine of up to Br500 thousand.

January 29, Moscow customs officers seized radioactive volcanic sand at Domodedovo airport in the luggage of a tourist who flew in from India. During the examination, the sand contained the mineral monazite, which contains radioactive element thorium-232. It may be dangerous to human health.
